Reid Taylor is a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He joined the Dallas Fed in 2024.
Reid is an applied microeconomist with academic research interests in energy markets, transportation decarbonization and the effects of natural disasters on insurance markets. Recent research has focused on the effects of wildfires in regulated homeowners insurance markets, household energy efficiency investment decisions and price effects of competition in retail gasoline markets.
He received his PhD in economics from the University of California, Davis in 2024, MA in economics and MS in finance and risk management from the University of Colorado Denver in 2018, and BA in economics and French from the University of Lynchburg in 2012.
