On September 6, Robert S. Kaplan, president and CEO of the Dallas Fed, discussed national and global economic issues with Ross Perot Jr., chairman of both The Perot Group and Hillwood.

 

About Ross Perot Jr.

Perot serves as chairman of The Perot Group, which manages the Perot family interests that include real estate, oil and gas and financial investments. Additionally, Perot is chairman of Hillwood, a Texas-based global real estate development company that he founded in 1988.

Perot was a founder of Perot Systems Corp. and served in various roles, including CEO and chairman of the board, until the company was acquired by Dell Inc. in 2009. He served on the Dell board from 2009 to 2013.

An aviation enthusiast, Perot completed the first helicopter flight around the world in less than 30 days in 1982. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over eight years, earning certification as an F-4 pilot. Perot then served as chairman of the Air Force Memorial Foundation, where he led a 14-year effort to build a memorial in Washington honoring the men and women of the U.S. Air Force. The memorial was dedicated in October 2006.

Perot is currently chairman of the board of the EastWest Institute and serves on the boards of Vanderbilt University and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
