About Eric Johnson

Eric Johnson, a practicing lawyer in Dallas for over 15 years, was elected mayor of Dallas in June 2019.

Johnson represented Dallas as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 2010 to 2019. During his tenure, he served on 20 legislative committees and as chairman of the Dallas Area Legislative Delegation.

Johnson was raised in West Dallas and Oak Cliff and attended public school through first grade before earning a scholarship to Greenhill School through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.

Johnson received an undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard University, a graduate degree from Princeton University and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
