About Cynthia Marshall

Marshall has championed diversity and inclusion within the Dallas Mavericks organization and also during her 36-year career at AT&T. When she was hired as the Dallas Mavericks’ CEO, her vision was for the Mavericks organization to become the NBA standard for inclusion and diversity.

Prior to joining the Mavericks, Marshall founded Marshalling Resources, a consulting firm specializing in leadership, diversity and inclusion, culture transformation and overall optimization of people resources.

While at AT&T, her dedication to diversity and inclusion landed AT&T in the top 3 on Diversity Inc.’s 2017 Top 50 list of companies. She also spearheaded the work that placed AT&T on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list in 2017.

Marshall received the 2020 Girl Scouts of America Lifetime Achievement award. In 2019, she was honored with the Women of Power Legacy Award by Black Enterprise, was the recipient of the National ATHENA® Leadership Program Award and was named as one of Adweek’s Most Powerful Women in Sports.

She has chaired a variety of nonprofit boards and is currently on the board of Dallas CASA, Dallas Regional Chamber, Texas Women’s Foundation, Texas 2036 and T.D. Jakes Foundation and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council. She is also on the board of directors of BGSF Staffing and Blinktbi Inc.

Marshall holds degrees in business administration and human resources management from the University of California–Berkeley and four honorary doctorate degrees.
