Texas Weekly Employment Estimate

The Texas Weekly Employment Estimate (TWEE) provides a timely indication of job growth. It is based on high-frequency data on initial claims for unemployment insurance, Homebase data on hours worked at small firms, Google mobility data, debit/credit card spending, restaurant reservations and the number of drilling rigs. TWEE data are updated every Friday and reflect employment changes during the prior week.

The TWEE was developed by Jesus Cañas, senior business economist; Carlee Crocker, research analyst; and Keith Phillips, assistant vice president and senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
