Dallas Fed Energy Survey

Historical Data

Historical data can be downloaded dating back to first quarter 2016. For the definitions of all variables, see Data Definitions.

The indexes are not seasonally adjusted. Indexes covering changes from the prior quarter may exhibit seasonal patterns, and users should be cautioned that this could lead to misinterpretations about real economic activity. After three years of data have been collected and seasonality can be statistically identified, the quarter-over-quarter indexes will be seasonally adjusted as needed.

*Prior to 2017, participants were asked whether crude oil and natural gas prices would increase, not change or decrease a year ahead. Starting in 2017, the survey questionnaire began asking directly for price forecasts.
