U.S. gigafactory map
Gigafactories are enormous factories that produce batteries, usually lithium-ion batteries for use in electric vehicles or energy storage systems. U.S. gigafactories are largely concentrated in the Midwest and the South, regions that also host significant automobile manufacturing. About a dozen facilities are operational as of early 2026, while more than 20 additional sites are in various stages of construction.
